Jam Session ™

(Jam Session™ is a registered Trademark through Washington State)

Promoting LOCAL musicians and Live music. Supported in part by Clark County Arts Commission.

We are elevating the music classes by raising prerequisites and expectations, making them more challenging yet enriching and rewarding, while supporting the growth of all students. Instructor Approval will now be required to participate in Advanced Workshops.

Emerging Workshop – People who don’t have a lot of stage experience or are new to their instruments and want to collaborate with others as they learn or are “rusty” and want to brush up.  Focus is on basics of chords, theory, tone, and ear training.

Advanced Workshop – for more experienced musicians who know how to find alternate chord voicings, can read charts well or can pick up music by ear accurately, and who understand and can apply more advanced theory such as intervals. The Advanced Workshop will also begin to really focus on “band” versus “individual,” helping you to learn how to fit in with other players better and find your own part in the spectrum of sound. This is for people who have participated in the Emerging Workshop or have demonstrated that level of proficiency to the instructors. Instructor approval needed to participate.
